I chose to reenact Charlie Chaplin for my video project, but creating a brand new story of my own using the character. I performed as Charlie Chaplin and my sister played the "angry lady" in the story. It is called "A Day at the Ice Cream Parlor." I shot all of this at my house using my Panasonic Lumix Camera. It literally took two days of planning and observing before I actually shot the short film. I really wanted to bring Charlie Chaplin back to life, so I spent ALOT of time studying his facial expressions and his old films. I even paid close attention to the way he walked and the music that was used in his films. I spent two days analyzing him and his films, because I wanted to make sure I didn't overdo or "under do" anything. I'm quite proud of how the video turned out.
Materials used were tripod, my camera, and costumes of course. I used clothes from my dad's closet and stuff from Party City to put together the Chaplin costume. A pie was baked for the production as well. I actually used Photoshop for the Ice Cream Parlor sign, which is kind of cool because it was the first thing we learned in this course--so this video was kind of a combination of all the techniques I learned and experimented with in this course. A good way to end the course. :)
This video is kind of my homage to Charlie Chaplin. I am SUCH a huge fan of his work and have been ever since childhood. His creativity has inspired much of my artistry overall, and I have stepped into his shoes for the first time through this video, so it was quite an experience making this video project.
Not many females have tried to tackle a reenactment of Charlie Chaplin, so I think audiences will get a kick out of seeing me as Charlie Chaplin.
I hope you guys enjoy it! :)
