Growing up in Alaska, I started taking pictures of the landscape on any weekend camping my family did. We used to go on road trips, camp and fish a lot growing up and it just started off as something I enjoyed doing. As I grew up, I started trying different angles and going around town just so I could find new places to take pictures of. I decided to take a photography class in high school and really enjoyed it and wanted to keep doing it. I like the idea of being able to capture a moment in time and be able to look back on it. I just changed my major to art studies and hope to become a photography major once I turn in a portfolio. I took a film photography class last year at ASU and I loved it so I’ve been experimenting more with film lately and I love the darkroom. A couple artists that I really like are Ansel Adams, he has amazing black and white nature pictures. Another artist I've really started liking is Lauren Hermele, her pictures are more of everyday life. Here is a link to her work. www.laurenhermele.com
