Audio Project: Disney Mash-Up

I took eight different Disney songs and put them all together to create almost like a love story! The movies these songs are from are, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Hercules, Aladdin, and the Lion King. I love Disney and the classic hits and I love that they bring back my childhood memories when I listen to the music! I enjoyed doing this audio project and definitely want to play around with it more!
How I accomplished my task: First I had to go into my Itunes account and take all the songs I wanted to use and turn them into MP3 format. Once I did that, I then made a copy of the MP3 and pasted it onto my desktop. After it was on my desktop I could then take it into audacity to cut parts, change the flow, have certain songs fade in and fade out so it wasn't a hard cut. I originally had twelve songs I wanted to use, but narrowed it down to eight so it would sound like a song and be under five minutes. Then it was just a matter on cutting and pasting different parts of the clips where they could tell a story!

Propaganda Image: Human Rights
My image is about our human rights. I chose this topic because in one of my classes we were discussing our different rights as humans and how sometimes the law goes against those rights. After that lesson I was inspired to want to make our rights as human beings more known. You would be surprised how many people don't actually know how many rights we have for ourselves and what some of them are. There are 30 articles of rights and several countries that have the same principles. I also found this to be intriguing because under the human rights EVERYONE, whether you are a child or an adult, are considered the same. For the first couple weeks I really struggled with trying to pull my concept together. I couldn't decide how I wanted my message to come across and I didn't know how to execute it with an overall strong message. I knew for sure I wanted it to be a positive message. I tried using images, but they didn't feel right. After the images didn't work I knew I wanted to stick with words, so I tried getting most of my words going up towards the sky. The color concept in my mind dealt with using purples, reds, oranges and yellows to make it pop on the background text. Overall I feel that my message is strong and proclaims our right to be treated as equals in all forms. I believe that everyone deserves the right to freedom and liberty!!
Appropriated Image: Mistaken Identity
Sometimes we feel like we wish we were someone else. We wish we could have their life over our own. My picture represents this concept on wanting to be something we are not. This little fish wishes it could be a tiger, so it dresses like a tiger and tries to pass as a tiger. No matter how much it tries to be a tiger it will never be a tiger, it will always be a fish. So no matter what we do to change ourselves or to be someone we are not, deep down inside we are still us.
Constructed Narrative: Sending Love
I love the idea of being head over heels in love with your soul mate. This picture reflects my feeling of being able to send my love where ever I am. Its warm and inviting image of loves first kiss brings any viewer back to their big moment.
