I've always had an intense passion for art. I've grown up watching virtually EVERY animated Disney movie in existence and, consequently, have always wanted to become an animator. I began drawing comics in high school during Spanish class when lectures would get boring and, on account of the intense positive reaction from all of my teachers and friends, it's always been a side-hobby for me ever since. Although I've taken life drawing and pottery classes, I mainly create comics because it helps me sharpen my skills in drawing characters in motion, which I believe is what digital animation focuses on. I hope to develop more as an artist at A.S.U. and my ultimate dream is to be able to obtain a career as an animator (2D or 3D) for either Disney and Pixar or Dreamworks. If that doesn't work out, however, I'm happy to be an author and illustrator for children's books . :D
Many artists have influenced me. For instance, any of the Disney animation legends, Les Clark, Marc Davis, Ollie Johnston, Milt Kahl, Ward Kimball, Eric Larson, John Lounsbery, Wolfgang Reitherman, Frank Thomas, are HUGE icons for me. You can see their work in many famous films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Robin Hood, The Aristocats, The Jungle Book, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, etc. A useful link to find examples is listed here:
