For this project, I wanted to take on the role of a propaganda minister in a dystopian society of a fictional future. I wanted this world to mirror our own if it took a turn for the worst in a decade or so, with the greed of man reigning supreme, corporations wielding unchecked power, and the church delivering final judgement; a world were racism is embraced but still not openly admitted, and enthusiastically hollow patriotism is the only acceptable form of public opinion. A more cynical person could argue that any one of these features are already a very real attribute of our world today, creating an interesting discomfort at the idea of this becoming a reality.
It's fun to wonder if we're just one election, one financial meltdown, or one supreme court decision away from our society slipping into a similar collapse, becoming numb to anxiety and ultimately giving in to those that would take complete advantage of us.

The aesthetics of the propaganda posters are intended to be cold and calculated, and as common and nondescript as a public service magazine advertisement. They're state sponsored, fear mongering pieces. They have a hint of grit and shadow to them in order to instill a sense of fear and retribution if you were to not heed the warnings contained within.
There's still hope in this fictional world though, hidden near the derelict streets of far away borders where little profit is to be made or few people have reason to go. It's the people that dwell here that emerge in episodes of rebellion from time to time, and they're the reason posters like this exist - as a tool of the state to turn the public against them and help snuff them out.
