He is an Iraq american and that has a huge influence on his art. the image above is of him being publicly tattooed with one dot for every dead solder, and one dot for every dead Iraq innocent. The site i found him on talks about his work as follows:"Yes his theme is political and his tactics are heavy, but so is war."
I first learned about this artist a few years ago on the news, when he first began a 3 year long project in which he had a camera surgically mounted to his head. It would take pictures once every three seconds and at the end of the day he would upload them to his computer.

Oh my gosh! That is a crazy concept! I actually have always thought about what it would be like to be able to record everyday life without having to manually bring a camera or video recorder wherever you went so I'm definitely giving props to this guy for going above and beyond the call of duty to raise awareness of the war going on in the world today. I love his passion for creating discomfort with this topic in order to really get people talking about the subject. Great find!

That is a pretty radical concept for an art piece, not to mention that it takes serious dedication in order to surgically mount a camera on your head AND remember to upload all the pictures to your computer at the end of the day. It does create a powerful response though, seeing a person’s entire day. I still can’t believe that he has a dot tattooed to his back for innocents and then for soldiers as well. That’s a nearly permanent thing, and since he does it publicly that makes it even more of a performance. Very radical guy overall, I think.

I think it's cool when artists mix their work with politics. It's a great way to get a point across even though some people may think that it's a little out there and some people may even say it's insane. The fact that he got people's names tattooed on him that he doesn't even know is really striking and a cool idea. It looks as though he just got them tattooed in white ink, but still it's the thought that counts. Neat idea, something I would never do personally though.
