Other than that, McCormick's work, like most traditional propaganda artists, has his subjects never looking full-on at the viewer but at the bomb planes overhead, further emphasizing the meaning of the poster. The dogs have bold outlines and they are the focus of the picture and their placement is, I think, a good choice. Dead-center without beating around the bush. I also really like the font choice, because he seems to cater it to the shape and features of the dog, as well as people's associations with that particular breed. Pug in itself sounds kind of rough, and in one of his posters for the pug he uses a sharply angled text that kind of sits on the imaginary line, squishing itself like a pudgy pug would.
