The artist I chose to share was KAWS, I found out about KAWS from a previous company that interests me called Original Fake... He graduated from SVA and got a degree in illustration and actually briefly worked with Disney doing minor freelance work. His career started out as a graffiti artist but now he also does vinyl toys, clothing, sculptures, and acrylic paintings. When I thought about writing my blog and choosing an artist I thought of him immediately because I like the typography he does as little doodles. Here are some more examples of the typical KAWS font used for his collaborations.
He has his own unique style and he always collaborates with companies that I love. He is a very successful and respected artist, especially in the urban art community and japanese pop-art community. He earned almost half a million dollars with one sculpture sold at the Bape Gallery in Tokyo. Most of his works are not solely text like the ones I've showed you here but for some reason it's very catchy to me even more so than his other more conceptual works of art.
