I decided to go the political route due to the fact that the elections are just right around the corner and I feel like this deals with our mutable world because that I feel like we’re getting to a point as a country where we are having to settle when it comes to our government officials. This year would be the first year I’m able to vote and I don’t even have the desire to vote because I don’t agree with either political figure. I feel like our options for president are just getting more and more unqualified every time we have an election. Even though I may not want to vote, it is blatantly obvious that the elections are important and should never be taken lightly.
I was influenced by the movie Face Off when it comes to the element of the poster. I wanted to compare the two candidates by placing them equally side by side, but by not making it obvious. You can always look at a picture of a person longer than you can actually look at them in person. I believe that truly staring at someone you can learn a lot by them, their mannerisms, how they talk, and personal gestures. I wanted to keep the text minimal because I wanted the focus to be on the faces and the images going on in the picture. I feel as though images speak louder than words sometimes.
