My idea behind the poster was behind the controversy in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Bristol Bay has the world's largest Salmon runs and has the largest Sockeye fishery. Foreign mining companies have been trying to get a mine for copper and gold named Pebble mine built for a few years now. The mine would have very harmful effects on all the wildlife in Bristol Bay and lessen the salmon run. The salmon run is important for other wildlife and even for people. In the Bristol Bay area, salmon makes up 75% of the jobs. Even lodges would have problems because if there is less fish, there is less people coming for sport fishing. 7500 people live around the area and they all live semi subsistent lifestyles and use the wild resources to live. I chose this topic because it was something I knew a lot about and I was always against it. I think with the black and white and little red, it gets the meaning across simply without anything else distracting you.
